How to care for your swimsuit

Properly maintaining your swimsuit is important to ensure that the product lasts over time. All our products are designed to withstand the test of time, but sand, chlorine, sunscreen and sea water significantly reduce its lifespan. Would you like it to remain as beautiful as the first day? Here are our tips and tricks for maintaining your STATICE swimsuit so that it retains all its shine!

  1. Avoid contact with sunscreens and oils

Sunscreens or oils are essential to protect your skin from the sun, but they can stain your swimsuit. Ideally, try to apply them before putting on your swimsuit.

  1. Rinse your swimsuit

Although you can't wash it with soap right away, after each use it is important to rinse your swimsuit in fresh water without letting it soak to remove most of the residue.

  1. Don't leave your wet swimsuit in its waterproof pouch

Take it out of its pouch to rinse it and let it air dry.

  1. Ideally wash it by hand

One of the most important things to take care of your swimsuit is to wash it by hand after each use. Wash it in clear, lukewarm water with the mildest soap possible (Marseille soap for example).

  1. Avoid machine washing and do not tumble dry.

The washing machine is the enemy of your jersey, it risks damaging it. However, if you absolutely want to wash it in the machine, you can: at 30°C with similar colors, on a delicate cycle, if possible in a net, but still limit the amount of detergent. On the other hand, do not use fabric softener or tumble dry it.

  1. Avoid drying in direct sunlight

Once you have washed it, preferably by hand, make sure to dry it in good conditions. Direct exposure to sunlight will damage the colors and elastics of your swimsuit. Lay it out in the shade, flat, to prevent the swimsuit from stretching.

  1. Don't iron it

This may seem obvious to you, but let's remember: a swimsuit should not be ironed, especially if you have dried it properly, flat.
